En Gry & Sif was founded in 2002 by Scandinavian sisters Gry & Sif who, following a three month trek across India and Nepal in search of inspiration, decided to ditch their hectic jobs and establish themselves as designers of these fabulous children's products. Their company has grown but continues to remain true to their ethos of providing stable, well paid, employment in good workplaces for around 700 people in one of the poorest countries in the world.  It really is fabulous to see a company with such clear commitment, care and attention to detail not only in the product itself but also to the welfare of those involved in it's manufacture.

In 2009 the World Fair Trade Organization recognized the companies commitment to the welfare of their employees and awarded them the prestigious Fair Trade certification.

Each exquisite item is created using New Zealand wool and coloured with eco-friendly dyes. Beads and sequins are sourced locally at various markets in Kathmandu ensuring that every handmade piece posesses a unique character and charm all of it's own.
