We’ve always loved the idea of a Shepherds hut and during a recent brief visit to North Wales, we took the opportunity of staying in one at Abergele. It’s a fabulous location with stunning views over the Snowdonia National Park and just perfect for that “get away from it all” break…
The hut itself was built by Plankbridge in 2010, it’s absolutely beautiful and despite freezing temperatures outside the wonderful little woodburner kept the hut warm and comfortable all night. The nearby, and newly renovated, stable also had it’s own little woodstove and was where we enjoyed our delicious home-cooked evening meal and full English Welsh breakfast :)
It was a fabulous break, the hut was light, airy and spotlessly clean. The owners went to great lengths to make us feel very welcome with lots of little details – freshly baked bread and cake, cut flowers in the stable and a vase of miniature daffodils in the hut – perfect!
We have no association with either Plankbridge, who make these superb huts, nor Mountain Lodge where we stayed but we are looking forward to returning very soon – it’d be fantastic in the snow…
